The first barBURRITO restaurant opens in downtown Toronto featuring delicious, healthy, fresh, made-to-order Mexican food in a fast casual restaurant format..
2009
Launched a franchise program and awarded our first franchise, propelling the brand into the category leader and Canada's largest and fastest growing burrito brand.
2020
Leveraging the overwhelming success in Canada, the first location opened in Michigan, USA under the name BURRITOBAR.
2024
Rebranded BURRITOBAR to Barrio Burrito Bar with a new visual identity, elevated design elements and bold aesthetics.
2025
Awarded Master Franchises for the UAE and the state of Punjab in India and we are currently evaluating other International markets.
2026
As of the beginning of 2026, we have over 400 units operating in Canada and 17 units operating in the United States. Our growth in the United States and outside of North America is powered by our Master Franchise program and through this model, we have awarded 25 Master Franchises representing 1,592 contractually committed units throughout the Nation.
