The first barBURRITO restaurant opens in downtown Toronto featuring delicious, healthy, fresh, made-to-order Mexican food in a fast casual restaurant format..

2009

Commenced Franchising in Canada

Launched a franchise program and awarded our first franchise, propelling the brand into the category leader and Canada's largest and fastest growing burrito brand.

2020

US Expansion

Leveraging the overwhelming success in Canada, the first location opened in Michigan, USA under the name BURRITOBAR.

2024

Brand Evolution

Rebranded BURRITOBAR to Barrio Burrito Bar with a new visual identity, elevated design elements and bold aesthetics.

2025

Global Expansion

Awarded Master Franchises for the UAE and the state of Punjab in India and we are currently evaluating other International markets.

We do not offer direct financing, but we have relationships with third-party lenders who can assist you.
Prior industry experience can be an asset, however is not mandatory to qualify.
Barrio Burrito Bar Corporate approves all sites to make sure that it meets our real estate criteria, as well as brand standards.
Franchisees are responsible to hire a local general contractor and are responsible for the associated costs to build a restaurant.
Generally speaking it takes 4-6 months to develop and open a location after the lease is signed.
Yes, we offer multi-unit franchises and encourage organic expansion with existing franchise partners. Many of our franchise partners are multi-unit franchisees from other franchise concepts.
The brand fund is used to build brand awareness and drive customers to our locations. In addition to the brand fund contribution, franchisees engage in their own Local Store Marketing initiatives.
You can sell your business at any time. Once you have entered into an Offer of Purchase and Sale, the approval and disclosure process will take place with the potential franchisee. After successful completion of the training, the new franchisee can take over the business.
